I had implants put in 12 years ago and now want my own body back
Hi everyone, I have been so encouraged by reading your stories. I had implants put in 12 years ago and now want my own body back despite everyone now telling me that they had no idea and that they always thought I had great boobs.I was a 32A and went to a 32 D which wasn't what i asked for: I only wanted to be a 32C maximum. My op is booked for a week on Wednesday and i keep getting very scared. The thing is, my surgeon is going to remove the implants and then do a breast lift which means cutting up to the nipple and removing the nipple and then placing it higher on the breast. It's the moving of my nipples that terrifies me.... I know that without the lift they may look really saggy but no one here seems to have needed to have had the lift. You all talk about how your boobs contracted again. I'm not sure what to do. Can anyone help?
Hi, I just wondered how your surgery went? I am thinking of doing the same thing and have a consult next week. Did you get the lift and how did they turn out. Mine got so big after my implants 11 years ago and I am afraid they will be wrinkly and saggy. I wondered if a Lift worked well enough to fix that. Anyway, I just wondered how you felt after having them removed. I am so self conscious of mine and try to cover them up as much as possible and feel they make me look fat and old. I hope you are well and recovering nicely. Thank you for posting your comment. I really look forward to your response.
Our stories sound very simular. I am getting mine out and after doing TONS or research i have decided not to have the lift at the same time as the implant removal. I'd like to wait 6 months, but if they are too horribly saggy & empty then maybe I'll only wait three months. Please be on touch, I'd like to see how things progress with you and I will keep you informed as to what I experiance.
Thanks!
Lou
Hi, sounds like a common problem. I am thinking of having my implants removed as well. I am worried about them being saggy afterwards (the reason why I got them done in the first place along with mid-life crises!) I would like to know how the lift surgery went for you. Originally I was going to get a lift done but I was worried about the procedure/scars.
Its hard to get feedback from people who have similar implant problems. I have only had mine 2.5 years but problems are developing. One breast has become swollen and uncomfortable. I didn't want larger breasts only less saggy ones but I got breasts that I feel were too big for me and now that I am having problems with them would like to find out about getting them removed. I really appreciate hearing your stories and how things worked out for you.....
Thanks
Simone
Hi Simone,
I would LOVE the chance to talk to you further and pick your brain. I am having my DD implants removed in 3 months and am worried as to what they might look like afterwards, being I do not want a lift. I am doing the removal for more than esthetic reasons, but also for physical reasons, such as my back hurting and the fact that I cant play sports as well. I am more insecure with large breasts, than I am with the small ones I was born with. I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have.
Thanks,
Lisa
I want to find out how the removal and lift went , I am also going to do this when I can get some donations because cancer runs so rampid in my family I want easy detection. I have had mine for 8 yrs and I am over it!!
If anyone is in the same boat as I and needs donations for their surgery . I have been out of work for almost 2yrs and really need the assistance. I am hoping I can remove them by next year. Its good to hear that there can be a lot of issues if you dont replace them often, I for one wont be able to handle multiple surgeries due to having major surgery in 2010.

I had a lift and implants 6 years ago and my boobs just keep getting bigger the older I get. I went to my original surgeon and told him I wanted another lift and the implants removed. He said he didn't think I'd need the lift and to prove it, he said, "Here, let me deflate them for your right here in the office and you can live with them that way for a few weeks and decide." So, I was thrilled that he was going to "deflate" them right then and there. We went into an examination room and he stuck a needle and canula in the breast and water came shooting out into a bowl! Totally painless. I felt so liberated! I was so happy. But now, I have these bags stuck in me. The right side is fine, I can even tell there is anything in there but the left side feels like it folded over and is poking me on the bottom. I know that I have to schedule a surgery very soon to have them removed, but the assistant said she has know women who kept them in forever! uuhh, no me. I want these things out, but I had no idea that it was that serious of a surgery. He wants to suck my "muffin top" out with lipo and transfer the fat to my breast. I'm all for sucking out the muffin top, but I don't need any more boobage. I will for go the fat transference. But I'm torn between just getting the bags out and leaving well enough alone or going for a second lift at the same time. My concern is the recovery time and what I'll have to take off of work.
Hi I could not sleep through worrying about my breasts so I have got up and taken a sleeping tablet and thought i would look up breast removal, and found this site. I had my breast implants 5 years ago and at first thought they were great, but since finding out you cannot detect cancer very easily in them ( I was told you have an ultra sound when u r due for a mama gram ) but you don't, and the nurse said they can't tell very easily, I feel very uneasy about them. I am now 55 and since having them have developed an Under active thyroid which has made me put a few stone in weight, where i was a 36b b4 op and a 36d after, i am now a 38dd and find this really uncomfortable, also i feel it makes me look even fatter and frumpy! A masseur even noticed by my back i had implants because the muscle shape of my back had become more deformed to carry my bust! I feel now i must start to enquire about having them removed, sounds silly but i hope i am doing the right thing, cos i dont want to end up even worse, plus i hope it does not cost to much as i cannot really afford it:( I wish i had known this was going to happen and i had not wasted my little bit of inheritance :(
I think getting them out and a lift will improve your life dramatically, I went from B to D and I am doing it Nov 1 putting on credit card, because I dont want them anymore!!I am also in my 50's
I think you just need to bite the bullet and go through the emotions of it , we all made errors in judgement when we got them, so dont be so hard on yourself, you will be happy you did it !!!
